A Journey Rooted in Purpose

The early origins of Sunliz Organic Farm trace back to 30 years ago when Dr. Sunny Kulathakal, a journalist by background, met a local farmer who was in need of financial help to pay off a loan to protect his land. Dr. Sunny paid off the loan and in turn purchased the land from the farmer which has over the years grown from a desert land to a green oasis of fruit trees and a natural eco-reserve of plants and animals. A labour of love, Dr. Sunny’s passion, curiosity and love for nature is what underpins the story of how the farm has grown to be what it is today.

Today, the farm comprises of 32 acres of land (21 acres in the main farm, and 10 acres across from the main farm) that mostly comprises of fruit trees (mangos, chikus, pomegranates, jackfruit, guava, starfruit, avocados) and vegetables (23 different varieties of local, exotic and leafy green vegetables). The farm also hosts livestock- cows, goats, hens, ducks, turkey, guinea fowl- and has 7 fish ponds, growing tilapia (jalebi) and pomfret varieties of fish. In our mission to reduce waste on the farm and extend shelf life of produce, this year the farm has also embarked on developing a catalog of fruit-based syrups, vinegars and pomegranate molasses, which are healthier and wholesome variations of their conventional competitors in the market.

Over the last couple of years, we have been supplying produce to Reliance, Namdhari, Bhoomi farms, Farmizen and Organic Mandya. We are now keen to diversify our clientele and supply directly to households in the Devanahalli and
Whitefield areas using our own electric van, but are hoping to also slowly expand our reach to households within and outside Bangalore. Contact us if you’d like to learn more about how you can partner with us.
